Jean-Claude Bischoff is working for the Strategy and Innovation department of Swisscom (Switzerland) Ltd. He graduated in electrical engineering and holds a PhD degree from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) Lausanne. He joined Swisscom R&D department in 1991. Since then he has been involved in numerous projects and gained a broad experience of both transport and access networks. For the last two years, he has been involved in a Swisscom R&D project that aims at identifying methods increasing significantly the data rates in the access copper network and at preparing the introduction of the most promising one, vectoring.
