Michael has over 25 years experience in telecommunications and has had a variety of roles including transmission planning, access network planning and project management of trial deployments of
- Fixed Wireless Access (FWA),
- Fibre to the Cabinet (FttC) and
-  Fibre to the Home (FttH)

Currently Michael is working in the office of the CTO with responsibility for the technical aspects of eircom’s Access Network architecture and strategy. At present Michael is evaluating FTTx/NGA options for eircom.

Michael Browne holds a BSc (IT) and an MSc (Operations Management) from Dublin City University and also holds Chartered Engineer title from Engineers Ireland. Michael has contributed to a number of Eurescom projects and studies relating to Next Generation Access (NGA).
